    @oakmantex

    Ah, thanks.

  • By oakmantex, November 18, 2010 @ 6:55 am

    @MrJs1G The eye was scratched by a finger nail during a ground scramble. Shields started rubbing it after they were back on their feet.

  • By oakmantex, November 18, 2010 @ 7:06 am

    @newbielives That’s what it looks like when you get “poked in the eye” There are scratches to the protective outer layers of the eye. The whole eye goes red right away.
    Not only did the Commission say it was a punch, Georges doctor said it was bleeding behind the eye, trauma, no damage to outer eye.
    You still get these don’t check any real info just make it up as you go people who don’t get it. Here it is. This is what a poke looks like.

    jake sounds like a hamster on coffee!

  • By newbielives, November 18, 2010 @ 7:56 am

    Fuck is that normal to have 50% of your eye covered in blood?

  • By marylin2972, November 18, 2010 @ 8:40 am

    HIS EYE!!!!! D:

  • By MrJs1G, November 18, 2010 @ 8:46 am

    @Lillielgee

    Depends how severe the injury that got you it was. Mine took a couple of weeks.

    I got hit with a metal pole, so the area around my eye was very puffy heh. The area around Shelds’ eye doesn’t seem nearly as bad as mine, so I would estimate a week or two. Mind you, it doesn’t affect your eyesight very much (at least it didn’t for me) and it’s a gradual process. Just makes you look a bit more intimdating 😉

  • By Lillielgee, November 18, 2010 @ 9:05 am

    @MrJs1G Ouch. How long does that take to recover?

  • By MrJs1G, November 18, 2010 @ 9:30 am

    @Lillielgee

    And his blood vessels have been popped; probably because of that nasty knee Kampmann threw.

    I would know, happened to me once in a fight.

    @Lillielgee

    My bad :’)

    @MrJs1G I’m a girly, but thank you 🙂

    @Lillielgee

    Well said man.

    @jasonatme

    You obviously don’t know how fights are scored if you truly believe that.

    Anyone who thinks all Jake Shields does is “lay and pray” doesn’t understand ground game AT ALL. Jiu-Jitsu is part of MMA and that’s not gonna change…deal with it.

  • By Lillielgee, November 18, 2010 @ 12:40 pm

    @iTech72 Haha that’s funny and very true. Maybe he’s just anxious?

  • By Lillielgee, November 18, 2010 @ 1:08 pm

    Yikes…is Jake’s left eyeball bleeding?

  • By jronzani, November 18, 2010 @ 1:36 pm

    Shields is fucked

    @Spaitin Read interviews with Shields just 9 weeks before the Kampmann fight. He was talking about fighting Anderson Silva. Nine weeks to cut 40lbs is crazy, it took Shields two years to gain the weight.

    That is the reason that Dana wasn’t upset, he knew what the UFC asked him to do, and he did it.

    GSP has cleaned out the division, but the REAL reason they needed Shields at welterweight is ALL the top fighters have ALREADY fought each other, while there are still some fights for Silva.

  • By Spaitin, November 18, 2010 @ 3:00 pm

    idk… shields had a tough time with kampmann… couldnt put him away on the ground… but kampmann is 1/10 the fighter gsp is

  • By Spaitin, November 18, 2010 @ 3:32 pm

    @bigbossman999 anderson silva already admitted he wouldnt fight jon jones. its in an interview

  • By cujo905, November 18, 2010 @ 4:10 pm

    @bigbossman999 Yeah Gsp used to finish guys but lately he’s not taking any chances. Shields is the best BJJ/wrestler combo in the sport. On the flipside he’s one of the worst standup fighters in the division and he’s slow but he has a pretty good chin. I really hope GSP is more aggressive in this fight, especially since I’ll be there..lol.. I was never worried about GSP previous opponents but Im alittle nervous about Shields…If he gets it to the ground I’ll be more nervous.

  • By bigbossman999, November 18, 2010 @ 5:07 pm

    @cujo905 I agree with you silva needs to leave and go to 205, I think he could be at his best there, plus a silva jon jones fight would be awesome.But again I just dont see shields as real competition (and I have seen alot of his fights). GSP’s problem is he doesnt finish i.e. he cant seem to knock out or force submissions, but he just completely dominates his opponents, shields doesnt seem to me any substantially better than alves, fitch, penn, koscheck, etc to warrant a serious “upset” threat
